Who we are

Since 2000, the group used to be located at the " Lehrstuhl für Anthropologie und Humangenetik "  within the "Department Biologie II" at the "Biozentrum" of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. In 2006, Steffen finished his "Habilitation" at the Faculty of Biology. In 2007 he got a position at the Walter-Brendel-Zentrum für experimentelle Medizin, an institute of the Medical Faculty of the University. Here, he is head of light microscopy, a position made possbile by the Bioimaging Network of the University.

The PhD students working on nuclear organization stayed at the Biozentrum, where they work closely together with the group of Thomas Cremer. Both buildings are only 700 meters apart. As of January 2009, Jens Nagel ist PhD student in the group. Two further PhD students work on a common project of Thomas Cremer and Steffen Dietzel within the SFB 684, Alexandra Kölbl and Doris Illner.

The Biozentrum is a new building in Planegg-Martinsried, finished in September2004. Martinsried is just outside the city limits of Munich. The adress is:
